A Podcast and a Weekend in Bicol District!
First I want to say I am sorry it has been so long since our last post. I could have many excuses, lol, but I won’t go there. We have stayed very busy since our return to the Philippines. recently we have been able to get out of Manila a couple of times and see some of the work that is going on in the Field. It is such a blessing to get out of the city… but mostly it is just so wonderful to see some people. We are constantly thankful for our vaccine. We have less worry about passing on Covid to anyone. SO THANKFUL!
We have two things to share here. One is a podcast that we did with pastor JoAnn Bastien. She is the planting pastor of Devon Aire Community (a Church of the Nazarene). JoAnn is self described as a preacher, church planter, blogger, podcast host, wife/mother, coffee lover, and introvert advancing the Kingdom of God. She has a passion for supporting, encouraging and giving voice to women in ministry. Devon Aire Community came to the Philippines the first year we served here on a Work & Witness project. In fact they were our first team. Check out our interview below.

Things have opened up a bit here. This past weekend we were able to visit the southern end of the island of Luzon where we live. It is beautiful country and much of the area can view the Mayon Volcano that erupted in 2018. It is magnificent and is an amazing display of God’s creation. Actually there are three volcano’s and lush green rice fields. It is so beautiful! It was a 13 hour drive down to Legaspi where we stayed. During our trip we got to be part of 4 Church Organization Services, (that is when a church becomes an official Church of the Nazarene) participate in an outreach pioneer area and visit with several pastors along our journeys. What a blessing to see the work of the local churches and to have time with our Field Strategy Coordinator, Rev. Arnel and Rev. Bhing Piliin. The District Superintendent Rev. Dan Feleo and his wife, Rev. Joesiebeth Feleo shared bits of their wonderful district and the people they serve with. What a delight!
