2021 July and August News
We are coming home on Vacation in September! It’s time to welcome our new precious Grandbaby! We can’t wait…
Most of our time will be in North Carolina, but we will be in California September 9-12 and September 28-October 3. We will be in Little Rock September 24-27.
So blessed to have the opportunity to come home!
Check out the busy month we have had and all the fun we get to be a part of!
Trip to the Philippine Luzon District with the Field Office:
Shechem Children’s Home Update. A Flood and a new Video!
Make sure you check out the video above. This latest video highlights “Mae” a recent Victim-Survivor of OSEC at Shechem. We are excited to show you the many aspects of the care we offer in this video.
We had several weeks of rain that ended up causing a flood at Shechem. This caused us to have to evacuate the children to a safe location to wait it out. Please pray for Kevin as he is working on a flood control system for the house. He is having problems getting all the supplies he has ordered. This is the second time in the past year when the water has been on the property. Hopefully soon we will have pumps and barriers to keep it at bay.
We have had several opportunities to visit and do crafts with some of our missionary partners. We are so blessed to serve in the Shechem Ministry. See the photo’s below.
Another fun thing this month was to participate with the Philippines-Micronesia field as they prayed for Myanmar, their sister field here on the AP region, and also raised funds. The Philippines NMI raised money for each Nazarene family in Myanmar and also brought a generous donation and gift bag to our Myanmar Students (not all Nazarenes) here on the campus of APNTS. We are blessed by the generous hearts of NMI.
Thank you for praying with us during this time. Our Covid numbers have risen in the past month. When the counts are higher, the hospitals get full and many people suffer and die. (with Covid and also all the other diseases)
We are back on a Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine. We are safe and have all we need.
We have had one case of Covid on Campus in the past couple of weeks and we are praising God for a full recovery and no other cases. We continue to be vigilant on campus. Please pray with us as we go through this time of elevated cases.
‘Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord : He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.’
Psalms 91:1-2

Thank you for sharing. Thank you for the memories. Bless you all and your work and all you do. You are both such blessings.
Thank you Christina for following our story! We appreciate your prayers!
Thank you for this update about your work and Shecham Ministry. So sorry flood waters continue to plague you various times during the years. Praying God’s wisdom for Kevin as he explores resources and resolution to keep this from occurring in the future. What dollar amounts are needed to expand Shecham House and make needed updates in pumps and drainage. Jehovah Jireh is the provider of all things for His Kingdom labor.
Randy and Nedra, Thanks for following the work and for all the questions you ask. There has been a grant for the Flood control project, which is under $5,000. They are also working on a grant from one of our donor’s here for the expansion. The project costs are over $100,000 usd. We have $10,000 committed, but we are looking for more donations. The plans are still in the final stages. We are talking to a local contractor. Thank you for asking!
