LoveWorks, a new Lease, Surgery & Preparing for Home Assignment

As we entered the month of May we knew that time would fly by in the next few months, and time has not disappointed us! Our three weeks with the Point Loma Nazarene University LoveWorks team was an encouragement to our hearts. I would use words like compassion and hardworking and community to describe them. They blended with each group they partnered with seamlessly and wholeheartedly and they weren’t afraid to tackle the difficult things like OSEC and poverty.

Moving and Renovating are exhausting and discouraging, but we are super thankful for the home God has provided us.

Kevin lifted a heavy tire with cement in it early in our time at Shechem House with Point Loma. He knew he had injured himself, but it was not until we saw the doctor that we realized his need for surgery. We had an amazing Surgeon and such great care at Medical City in Pasig. It has been just barely a month since surgery he is back to regular, except for the no lifting heavy things… Which is ongoing for the next 4 months. It has been super challenging for Kevin to refrain from heavy work during the house repairs. I am super thankful he has taken care of himself. We have been blessed with help from our carpenter/plumbers from the seminary who have worked their evenings to help us complete the work.
