Projects and Planning!
We did not want to miss sharing our August activity with you all and I prepared this post as we traveled into Los Angeles. We have been so crazy busy that I never posted it. So here it is. We will be posting when we return to the Philippines later this month all that has occurred on our home trip. Thank you!

We are sitting in the airport in Hong Kong, waiting for our flight to Los Angeles. Wow, just a year ago those words would sound strange in my mouth. But, we are getting used to maneuvering airports and immigration. There are many things that have become familiar. We are very excited to see family and friends and share our story of the Philippines! We will be sharing at Glendora Community Church on Sunday, October 14 at 9am. We will have a dessert on Sunday, October 7. Please let us know if you are interested in hearing about our first 9 months on the Field.
We will be in the Los Angeles area September 1 – 13 and then again October 5-14.
We will also be sharing our story at the Nazarene Work & Witness Conferences in Portland, OR September 14-15, Baltimore, MD September 21-22, and Columbus OH September 28-29. We are super excited to meet other Work & Witness Coordinators. We have so much to learn! We will have opportunities to share our projects and also our passion for the ministry of the Nazarene Church in the Philippines. We are excited to share about the students, staff and faculty at Asia Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary. There are so many exciting things going on.
We have gone to three different locations in the past several weeks to get photos and hear the vision of local district superintendents. It has been a new understanding for us to see the “local church” in the Philippines. There are 350 churches. Most of these local churches meet in homes in neighborhoods or Barangays. They minister to their communities and teach and preach and make disciples. There are a few larger congregations in the populous areas. So you can understand how having a district center, where pastors can have monthly training classes, and district events can be planned, and also Child Development Centers can be formed. We are excited to have three new district center projects. One is in Bicol, which is in Southern Luzon.
One is on the island of Negros, and one is on the island of Panay.
Each location has a little different culture and a lot of different languages! There are up to 187 languages depending on how you classify them or 8 major dialects. Even how many languages and dialects cannot be decided. Praise God, that English is spoken everywhere we go.
As we visited these communities we were excited by the ministry that is going on and how the local church participates in there communities.
Please pray for us as we travel, September 14 – October 4. Pray that we would share the work in the Philippines – Micronesia
